The real thing is 800kg, 75kg shouldn't be too hard to shed.
Keep in mind the Lotus 2-Eleven weighted 670kg while having an Elise/Evora engine. Comparing trackday specials with everyday sports cars is apples and oranges.
I used to use mouse + pedals like 9-10 years ago.
Is it fast? Sure it is. Faster than wheel? I doubt it. Faster inputs is an advantage, but lack of precision is a big drawback. Wheel has a much larger progression scale, mouse + pedal can get big results fast but you will hit diminishing results quicker.

I am on G29 too. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I don't know.
Some interesting points.
As a rule of thumb I don't really mind people using aids because it improves accessibility, but yeah, a lot of aids are used as exploits nowadays. More server settings for allowing/banning certain stuff would be really good.
Have to say that having to manually adjust wheel rotation settings to match 1:1 is a major pet peeve of mine, and probably confuse newcomers as most sims do it automatically nowadays.
I too think that tyre warmers were a mistake but the cat is out of the bag, unless we get a major update that forces a board reset it's too late to go back.
Interesting part about ABS! It really changed road car racing a lot and I'm surprised it isn't brought up so often.
On a slight tangent driver aids isn't the only source of unrealistic driving, the forgiving damage model is an issue. Being able to slap walls at South City or tyres at Fern Bay lap after lap and suffer no consequences doesn't feel right.

While I think that the time pitstop system is a good idea, handicap given to FZ5 seems quite harsh, given that it is much harder on tyres, and also needs to carry more fuel than RAC and LX6.
A common one is to stop playing and try to get your opponent to either leave or draw before your clock runs out.
AC came across the same issue and the main modding sections were closed in 2016.

From my experience North America to Europe is alright. South America to Europe gets dicey. Oceania to Europe is pretty bad. But to be blunt, I haven't seen a regular from Oceania is ages. Apart from ping, timezones is an issue for them.
That said Oceania to Europe is possible, though it kind of depends of the type of racing you're aiming for. Touring car style racing will be a mixed bag. But I remember Australians racing in endurance and being mostly fine, apart from maybe the occasional time out. Especially if someone from elsewhere in the world is taking start duties.
I hope this happens, I really like the idea of an endurance race on small roads. IMO the track could lose a few chicanes, but still a pretty interesting project.
FXR is easier to drive.
